In December 2021, my world stood still. A pain so profound, so earth-shattering, that even now, words fail to capture its depth. On December 4th, my beloved grandmother, Joya, gained her wings. She was my universe, my anchor, my greatest source of joy. Life, as I knew it, stopped.
For those who knew her, Nana was a force—joyful, witty, sassy when the moment called for it, and deeply devoted to her faith.
She could preach a sermon one minute and let out a bit of road rage the next. She was, in every way, my best friend. She was elegance personified, carrying herself with grace, humor, and an effortless sense of opulence that radiated from the inside out.
This brand was meant to be our journey together. We planned and dreamed of curating this collection side by side, and two of the soaps in this very line were ones she helped me develop. But after losing her, I couldn’t bring myself to continue—until one day, in my deepest sorrow, I prayed for guidance. Instead of answers, I heard her voice in my head, full of humor and love, telling me to “clean the balls of as many people as I can.” A little inside joke, but one that reminded me of her light, her laughter, and her unwavering belief in me.
And so, through my pain, The Joy Collection was born—a tribute to her essence, her elegance, and the opulent scents she adored. My grandmother always carried an air of luxury, and you’ll find that same refinement in this collection. Every product holds a piece of her—her grace, her love, and the warmth she gave so freely. Released on March 23, 2022, this collection is more than just luxury; it is legacy.
